Arabic digital search engines and their role in advancing the Arabic language and creating a knowledge society
Abstract
Building Arabic digital content is a prerequisite for the advancement of Arab societies and their entry into the world of knowledge, especially in light of the digital divide between developing and developed societies, so building Arabic digital content has become an urgent necessity. Digital search engines are considered one of the most important options offered on the Internet. They are computer programs that make it easy for the Internet user to find documents and information stored on them. These digital engines were designed on the principle of searching for information and books in old libraries, so that a database is created that contains all indexes and information arranged according to a specific system. Through our paper, we seek to diagnose the status of the Arabic language in the map of knowledge societies, in other words, to identify its distant or near horizon in this field
