Abstract

Among the uses and characteristics that characterize the origin of words in the Arabic language, what has recently been called the “central meaning” of each of its roots, and what is meant by the central meaning of a root is: the comprehensive meaning that can be scientifically and diversely realized in all uses of the word formulated from this cherry. The purification of the realization of this meaning varies, sometimes it is realized clearly and directly, and other times it is indirectly, but it needs to be purified from interpretation in which it is returned to the pivotal meaning of the linguistic root, and I see here a careful consideration and exhaustion of thought in proving the realization of the pivotal meaning of a root, in what came from it a linguistic use that the Arabs actually used, and this is the first of the principles in knowing the connotations of words (verbal and nominal) in the Arabic language in general, and in the Holy Quran in particular, especially if proving the realization of that meaning is great in the ages starting from the pre-Islamic era until the modern era; and based on that there are many forces that compete to achieve and accomplish it in this research, and then that opposition: identifying the concept of the pivotal meaning and its connection to linguistic thought.
