Le developpement de la competence en lecture chez les enfants dans le contexte de la variabilite orthographique entre les langues

Résumé
La lecture est un processus complexe qui implique la mise en œuvre
d'un ensemble d'opérations neurocognitives intégrées, et reconnues
comme étant le fondement de base du développement de la compétence
en lecture chez les enfants. Ce développement repose fondamentalement
sur deux principaux aspects : un aspect individuel représenté par les
processus cognitifs de l'individu lui-même, et un aspect objectif qui
concerne les caractéristiques orthographiques de la langue qui fait l’objet
d’apprentissage. Malgré les progrès réalisés dans le domaine de l’étude
du développement de la compétence de lecture chez les enfants, la plupart
de ces études portant sur la lecture en général et sur la reconnaissance des
mots en particulier ont été principalement menées dans le contexte des
langues Indoeuropéennes, tandis que la lecture en langue arabe n’a suscité
que peu d’attention. Afin de mettre en évidence l’impact de la variabilité
orthographique sur le développement de la compétence en lecture, nous
abordons dans cette étude les facteurs linguistiques et cognitifs sousjacents à l'apprentissage de la lecture, qui représentent les aspects clés des
différences entre les différentes langues. Une attention particulière a été
portée sur la langue arabe en termes de ses caractéristiques linguistiques
et de leur impact sur les mécanismes cognitifs impliqués dans la lecture
