2-Plagiarism Policy

"Plagiarism" refers to the act of using or imitating another author's language and ideas without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one's own original work. Therefore, authors are required to ensure that all articles submitted for publication are original and have not been previously published elsewhere.

The Journal of AL-Lisaniyyat implements rigorous procedures to prevent plagiarism and uphold academic integrity. The journal maintains a strict policy towards instances of proven plagiarism, aiming to safeguard the intellectual property rights of authors and uphold the quality of submitted articles.

Authors must accurately identify and cite any material borrowed from other sources using quotation marks and adhering to the article template and author guidelines. The use of quoted material should be limited and appropriate, and exceeding these standards is prohibited. Additionally, permission must be obtained from the copyright holder for any visual materials used from other sources, with clear documentation of the source.

To ensure compliance with this policy, all submitted research papers undergo an automatic similarity check by ASJP software to ascertain the similarity index and detect potential plagiarism.

In accordance with the correspondence from the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technological Development No. 776 dated: 09/12/2023, the "Detectia" platform by Abysoft has been approved as the software for measuring citation rates in scientific works received via the ASJP platform.

This policy aims to promote integrity and credibility in scientific research, encouraging the submission of authentic and innovative articles that contribute to advancing knowledge across various research fields.

In cases where plagiarism is confirmed, the Editor-in-Chief will take appropriate actions based on guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at the following link: https://publicationethics.org

Plagiarism is assessed based on the similarity percentage with other scientific works as follows:

- If the similarity percentage equals or exceeds 30%, the article will be rejected due to confirmed plagiarism.

- If the similarity percentage is less than 30% but more than 10%, the author will be required to revise the article, ensuring proper scientific documentation and modifications.

- If the similarity percentage is less than 10%, it is not considered plagiarism, and the article will proceed to peer review as usual.
