Global Citizenship Education in Algeria -Local Perspectives within a Global Framework
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the strategies for integrating Global Citizenship Education (GCE) into the Algerian educational system, highlighting the specific socio-economic and cultural challenges associated with this process. The study demonstrates that globalization necessitates the adaptation of educational curricula to prepare citizens capable of addressing global challenges. Drawing on international examples and local educational reforms, the article proposes an action plan for implementing GCE in Algeria, with particular emphasis on teacher training and curriculum development, while taking into account the country’s cultural and social contexts.
