Study of cohesion in aphasics

Abstract
The explanation of aphasia in our study is based on neo-Khalilian linguistic concepts such as the
pattern and the root. These concepts offer a much more operative model in the analysis of
pathological language and mainly in the field of aphasiology. The study of cohesion (incremental
variation) has shown that aphasia is an impairment in the semiotic-grammatical analysis that
governs the processes of reversible transformations necessary for the construction of generative
patterns. Consequently, one of the two processes are affected: for Broca, it is a loss in the
construction of patterns and for Wernicke, it is a dysfunction in the root system (Asl).
