Abstract

Multiple studies raise the issue of Noam Chomsky's influence on Arabic grammar in his concept of transformation, on the basis that he did not present anything new, as his concept of transformation is a concept rooted in our grammatical heritage. In contrast, we find Chomsky denying his knowledge of Arabic grammatical studies, confirming his study of Hebrew grammar, in the absence of an explicit limit. For conversion among the Arabs, and matching the Hebrew grammar - which Chomsky reviewed - to the Arabic grammar, we find ourselves facing a thorny issue, in which we must first stop at a specific concept of conversion in Arabic grammar, then reveal the aspects of correspondence or the aspects of differences and similarities between the concept of conversion in the transformative generative theory. And the Arabic theory. Finally, let us stop at the issue of whether or not Chomsky was influenced by Arabic grammar in his theoretical approach to conversion.
